1 Open loop devices allow the patient or physician to alter stimulation levels and frequency. Closed loop devices run algorithmically and adjust these parameters on their own. Both types of devices are currently used with deep brain stimulation (Ghasemi et al., Citation2018).

Moreover, it seems that people care about genetic parenthood for reasons (evolutionary) other than its logical consistency. (Mertes, Citation2014). An account of authenticity so complex might make patients wonder why the care about it at all.
