Abstract
Mindful sport performance enhancement (MSPE) is one of the leading mindfulness-based mental training programs for athletes and coaches. Following a brief introduction to the structure and spirit of MSPE, a detailed case study of work with a Division III women’s lacrosse team over a 2+ year period is presented, highlighting the adaptability of MSPE when working within collegiate settings. In addition to discussing how the program was adapted and implemented, ethical considerations, the quantitative and qualitative impact of the program, and guidelines for MSPE best practices when working with collegiate athletes and coaches are presented.
