Abstract
Penile surgery in children may have wide-ranging and long-lasting emotional effects, both in patient and in parent. Thus, the optimal time for hypospadias repair is in the baby's first year. Unless there are coexisting genital anomalies, single-stage corrections can be done, with expectation of excellent results—in almost all infants with hypospadias.
