Development Trend and Socialist Prospect of the Twenty-First Century Latin America and Other Regions in the World: A Review of the First Global Vanguard Science Congress of the University of Puebla

Abstract

Themed as “The Twenty-First Century Science and Technology and the Self-Determination of People and States,” the first Global Vanguard Science Congress of the University of Puebla discussed the development trend and socialist prospect of the twenty-first century Latin America and other regions in the world. Scholars from all over the world explored the structure of geopolitics, improvement of democracy, status and development prospect of socialism, specific means of social and economic reform, the historical course of social revolution and possible prospect of scientific and technological development, etc. This conference helped people further figure out the development status of all countries in the context of the twenty-first century, especially that of Latin American countries, and created a clearer understanding of the development prospects of the twenty-first century socialism.

Notes on Contributor

Jin Yaomei, PhD in philosophy, is an associate professor in the School of Marxism at Tongji University, and Director of the Academic Research Center of the School of Marxism. Her field of research focuses on Marxism abroad. Her main publications include A Study of Althusser and His Trend of Thought (in Chinese; Chongqing Press, 2010).
