This article briefly introduces to international readers China’s achievements in combating the COVID-19 epidemic, along with the global context surrounding this fight, and provides the background for a collection of essays and interviews compiled with the aim to present an accurate picture of China and the world under the conditions of the pandemic in the book China’s Fight against the COVID-19 Epidemic: Its Contribution and Implications to the World in the Eyes of Foreigners [in Chinese, edited by Hui Jiang, Contemporary China Publishing House, 2020, 461 pp., ¥86 (paperback), ISBN978-7-5154-1043-2].
