Nwa Abdullah Karim

My name is Nwa Abdullah Karim. I’m 21 years old and I study International Studies. As a Kurdish woman, I experience remnants of war every single day. I always struggle with speaking about my national identity because of prejudice. The very act of speaking about my rights as a woman is an act of rebellion in a patriarchal society. I love writing poetry because I believe that ideas and stories are immortal, they are just as human as we are but they remain forever.
