Alexandra Oancă

Alexandra Oancă is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the KU Leuven, Belgium. Her research focuses on the ways in which postcolonialism and postsocialism have shaped and continue to shape how heritage and cultural policy-making are imagined and mobilised in the European Union. For Alexandra, poetry and spoken word emerged as pathways to survival, as ways to give voice and meaning to personal stories of grief, loss and trauma. Currently, Alexandra is trying to find a place for poetry in her academic identity and activism.
