Dear editor, we would like to correspond to the publication “Factors influencing COVID-19 vaccine acceptance and hesitancy among rural community in Bangladesh: a cross-sectional survey based study.Citation1 According to Roy et al., the most critical predictor for converting vaccines to vaccinations and guaranteeing mass immunization against COVID-19 in Bangladesh is health communication about vaccine safety, side effects, and effectiveness.Citation1 We agree that COVID-19 vaccine apprehension is a serious problem and that there are a variety of factors that may contribute to it. However, as a recent Hong Kong paperCitation2 shows, the pattern of reluctance can alter over time. The backdrop of the outbreak and evidence on vaccine efficacy and safety are linked to apprehension.Citation3 As a result, the observations and the background context must be linked. To assess the status of COVID-19 vaccination acceptance, a long-term surveillance study should be created.
