In the current HV&I Reviewer Highlight, we are pleased to recognize Dr. Suizan Zhou and her service to the scientific community.

Dr. Zhou is a Medical Research Scientist at the China country office, based in Beijing, of US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She received her Bachelor’s (2004), Master’s (2007), and PhD (2018) degrees in the Public Health School, Peking University. She has been with CDC since 2009, responsible for performing a variety of tasks in strategic advising, protocol development, statistical analysis, scientific writing, coordinating, and supervising surveillance and research activities on seasonal and novel influenza. She leads the cooperation in applied research on seasonal influenza disease burden, vaccine effectiveness and vaccination health impact evaluation among the high-risk population, as well as avian influenza (e.g. H7N9) outbreak research.
