Abstract
This article addresses the intersections of state, family and child in the spheres of child-care, juvenile delinquency and criminal justice. It also looks at the state's responsibility and increasing participation in ensuring the proper moral welfare of the child, and highlights the role of social workers as intervening agents for the state as well as mediators between the state and the family.
