ABSTRACT
This paper presents the concept of a shadow sinusoidal oscillator. It is shown that a biquad with three input voltages and one output voltage can be easily converted to a sinusoidal oscillator with frequency and condition of oscillation controllable via the gains of externally connected amplifiers without disturbing the active and passive components of the biquad circuit itself; that is a shadow sinusoidal oscillator. Experimental results obtained from a simple shadow sinusoidal oscillator built around an operational amplifier and two current-feedback operational amplifiers are presented. The results obtained are in good agreement with the presented theory.
