With technology increasingly ubiquitous and powerful, educators carry responsibility to society to support students to become graduates who practice ethically and lead ethical practice. In Volume 24, Issue 2 of the Australasian Journal of Engineering Education is a special issue on Ethics in Engineering Education and Practice. The special issue was nominated and edited by members of the Research in Engineering Education Network Governing Board led by Shannon Chance, following the Research in Engineering Education Symposium 2019 in Cape Town. The issue is introduced by Chance (Citation2021). Papers will be of interest to practitioners, researchers, and thinkers. Consistent with the diverse disciplinary and geographic backgrounds of the authors, readers will discover wide-ranging writing styles and research approaches in the issue.
In general submissions, David Cropley (Citation2020) in ‘Applying quality function deployment to the design of engineering programmes: approaches, function, benefits’ provides a clear and practical paper for curriculum developers.
1. Call for papers: special issue engineering education research capability development
The Research in Engineering Education Symposium and Australasian Association for Engineering Education Conference (REES AAEE) 2021 will be held at The University of Western Australia in Perth (ree-aaee21.org). Aligned with REES AAEE 2021, papers are invited for a special issue of the Australasian Journal of Engineering Education on the theme Engineering Education Research Capability Development. Full papers for the Journal’s special issue must be submitted to the Journal by 31 July 2022 for consideration for review. Participants in the REES AAEE 2021 themed interactive paper sessions are invited to develop papers through collaboration during and following the paper sessions.
