Abstract
New three coordination polymers of d10 transition metals such as Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) with nitrogen containing multidentate ligand fumaroyl bis (paramethoxyphenylcarbamide) (fbpmpc) were synthesized using aprotic solvent including dimethylformamide (DMF) and mixture of dimethylformamide--ethanol (DMF/EtOH). Further, to confirm the structures of synthesized compounds they were characterized by elemental analysis and several spectroscopic techniques such as Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and magnetic moment susceptibility. Apart from this, the electrical conductivities have been investigated in solid state powder form. Moreover, coordination polymers were effectively investigated by thermogravimetry, derivative thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis. Thermogravimetric analysis noteworthily inferred the presence of lattice water in the composition of all the polymers, also it was supported by IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Above spectral investigation infers that ligand is coordinated to metal atom in polymer compounds via bis (bidentate) mode by N–O and O–N donors system. Therefore, on the basis of the FITIR spectroscopy, magnetic moment, and thermal study it is clear that for all the metal coordination polymers have tetrahedral geometry.
