Abstract
Bivariate analysis method has been applied to quantify binary combination of prifinium bromide/paracetamol and amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate. The method was tested for linearity, recovery, specificity and was found fast, precise, and free from interferences. The elaborated method for the two combinations was compared to validated HPLC-UV methods. The bivariate assay was used to quantify prifinium bromide/paracetamol and amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate in drug formulation samples. The results are in good agreement of the labeled contents. Statistical analysis using student's t-test and F-test showed no significant differences between the results obtained by bivariate method and HPLC method in commercial drug samples. The bivariate method is simple, time saving, sensitive, and versatile and could effectively be an alternative method to HPLC.
