Abstract

PANI/CS/IL/GCE sensor has been developed for sensitive detection of combination drug of domperidone (DMP) and pantoprazole (PTZ) using squarewave voltammetry as an analytical technique. The electrocatalytic behaviour of the drugs were measured by square wave voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry and modified sensor showed good catalytic response towards the reduction of DMP and PTZ with well-defined reduction peaks at -0.7 V and -1.17 V in Britton-/Robinson buffer at pH 4.2. In the present study the reaction kinetics was studied and experimental conditions were optimized for improving sensitivity of the developed sensor. Under the optimized conditions the reduction peak current of the DMP and PTZ was found to be proportional to its concentration and showed good linear calibration curves over a concentration range with a lower detection limit of 25.1 ng/mL and 22.5 ng/mL respectively. The characterization of the developed sensor was also carried out by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The developed sensor was found to be competent to determine both drugs effectively without any interference and successfully employed for the analysis of DMP and PTZ in pharmaceutical samples.
