Bosnia and the Destruction of Cultural Heritage, edited by Helen Walasek, with contributions by Richard Carlton, Amra Hadžimuhamedović, Valery Perry, and Tina Wik; Reviewed by Hamza Preljević (2017), European Journal of Cultural and Political Sociology, DOI: 10.1080/23254823.2017.1331963
When the above book review was first published online, several errors occurred in the sentence: “This book makes a historiographical intervention and refers to the ‘cultural genocide’ in the Bosnian War as a ‘pattern of mutual and equivalent destruction’ (p. 156).”
The sentence was corrected by the reviewer and should read as follows:
“This book makes a historiographical intervention and refers to the ‘cultural genocide’ in the Bosnian War not as a ‘pattern of mutual and equivalent destruction’ (p. 156); as it was previously noted by scholars like John Chapman in 1994. In fact, the book argues the complete opposite, and very emphatically: arguing that the destruction was not mutual and equivalent as many commentators, relying on outdated sources, still claim (pp. 60-61).”
The reviewer apologises for this error.
