We are delighted to express our gratitude to the 2018–2019 peer reviewers listed on the following pages. The peer review experience is at the heart of Human Service Organizations: Management, Leadership, & Governance. For authors, our audience of scholars is most immediately peer reviewers, whose suggestions for improvement resonate with us long after our paper has been accepted. For readers of the journal, we benefit in large part through the often-meaningful relationship that is created whenever authors and peer reviewers are responsive to the insights, questions, and challenges of one another. For us as editors of the journal, we have been given the privilege to witness the wonderful intellectual conversations that happen between authors and peer reviewers.
All of these relationships exist at the invisible margins of the scholarly page; and it is an unfortunate part of the scholarly enterprise that the contributions of our peer reviewers are not acknowledged more prominently.
This is particularly the case for our Editorial Advisory Board members, who have provided invaluable, expert assistance to authors and to us all. Ours is clearly not a ceremonial board. It is a working board, with experts who bring seasoned perspectives and novel research, theoretical, and practice-focused insights to bear on each manuscript. We are honored to be in your close company.
To this group we have added other peer reviewers – all of whom reflect deep focus and expertise related to the management, leadership, and governance of human service organizations. We express our grateful thanks to you as well, and we look forward to witnessing your excellent contributions in the future.
