Mordechai Palzur
Mordechai Palzur is a retired Israeli diplomat. He served as head of mission in Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Cyrpus, as well as ambassador to Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, and to a number of Caribbean nations. Ambassador Palzur played a key role in the reestablishment of diplomatic relations with his native Poland and arrived in Warsaw in 1986 as Israel's first representative to an Iron Curtain country that had severed diplomatic relations in 1967. In 1990, he was named Israeli ambassador to Poland and later headed the Foreign Ministry protocol department. Upon retiring in 1994, Ambassador Palzur was hired as senior adviser to the president of the Eisenberg Group of Companies and from 2008 served as chairman of the World Jewish Congress Research Institute.
