New portal for Science and Technology for the Built Environment manuscript submissions improve process

For years, ASHRAE used ScholarOne's Manuscript Central system for managing papers for its journals. As the years passed, the journals evolved into vastly different publication types, requiring individual processes for manuscript handling. Hence, ASHRAE's archival journal, Science and Technology for the Built Environment (STBE), has “split” from the other ASHRAE publications handled in Manuscript Central.

Now, when you login to ASHRAE's Manuscript Central Portal, https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ashrae you will see a pull-down menu from which to select “Science and Technology for the Built Environment,” or “ASHRAE” for other publications. Depending upon your choice, you will be directed to the correct manuscript processing portal for your publication. Alternatively, you may go directly to Science and Technology for the Built Environment at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/stbe.

All new submissions must be submitted via the new STBE portal. Manuscripts in process before the “split” will be handled on the ASHRAE side until publication or final decision. These changes will ultimately make the publication process smoother for all concerned.
