ABSTRACT

The Mayor’s Transport Strategy and Draft London Plan promote the delivery of healthier streets through the new ‘Healthy Streets Approach’. This is a framework which integrates health into planning and design decisions and promotes a collaborative approach between transport specialists and designers. Through examples and the authors’ professional experience, this paper will explore how further development of this innovative new planning tool could help lead to the delivery of biophilic cities.
