ABSTRACT

Pavonia is represented by 270 species concentrated in South America. Among these representatives, names grouped in the subgenus Pavonia exhibited nomenclatural and typification problems, especially within the section Lopimia. The nomenclatural issues discussed in this work were observed during the taxonomic revision process of Pavonia section Lopimia. In this context, the aim of this study was to correctly associate names with their respective types and indicate lectotypes and neotypes when necessary. This study presents two neotypifications and 10 lectotypifications.
