On pages 881 and 882, the authors state: “Across the entire study region, the deflation class accounts for 22 percent of the terrestrial land cover, the combined vegetation classes make up 73 percent, and the remaining 5 percent is bedrock and outwash sediment.” While this statement is true for the regions closest to the ice sheet, it is not true for the entire study region. The statement should have read: “Across the entire study region, the deflation class accounts for 10 percent of the terrestrial land cover, the combined vegetation classes make up 87 percent, and the remaining 3 percent is bedrock and outwash sediment.” In addition, the corresponding sentence in the abstract should have read: “Across the study area, deflation patches account for 10 percent of the terrestrial land surface and occur in greater density closer to the Greenland Ice Sheet (GrIS).”
The authors regret the error.
