The above article was first published online with an error as below –

Mustelidae are also important for understanding the evolutionary history of the pinnipeds (seals and sea lions). Pinnipeds were suggested as a monophyletic clade whose closest relatives are Ursidae (bears) (Hunt & Barnes 1994; Lento et al. 1995; Higdon et al. 2007) or a diphyletic clades with mustelidae as the closest relative of otaridae. (Flynn et al. 2005; Arnason et al. 2006; Sato et al. 2006)”.

The word otaridae should be Phocidae and the reference Arnason et al. below should be completely removed and replaced by: Davies, J. L. “The Pinnipedia: an essay in zoogeography.” Geographical Review 48.4 (1958): 474-493. (Davies 1958; Flynn et al. 2005; Sato et al. 2006).”
