Abstract
The present study deals with the synthesis and characterization of reduced graphene oxide nano layers (RGO) by a modified Hummer’s method followed by solvothermal method. RGO was characterized by XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, HR-TEM and Raman spectroscopic techniques. The characterization results clearly showed that the prepared RGO was in nano layered structure with high quality. The nano layers with two to three numbers were separated during solvothermal process. The prepared GO and RGO nano layers were tested against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria for antibacterial activities. The results proved the prepared GO and RGO to exhibit better antibacterial activity.
