Abstract

A closing synthesis device with special structure was designed to effectively collect the ZnO synthesized via self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS) method. With this device, the influence of CaF2 on products was investigated. Products were characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Results showed that with the increase of CaF2, there is a trend of first increase and following decrease in the yield of products and there appears increasing amount of one-dimensional ZnO nanostructures and there are no obvious changes on the structure of products. Possible mechanisms of the influence of CaF2 on products were discussed.
