Abstract

Herein, we are reporting the calcium ferrite nanocomposite material synthesized by the sol-gel method. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Visible) spectrophotometry. The synergistic effect of the nano composite contribute to the enhanced methyl orange (MO) removal ability (photo-catalyst) because reduction reaction and adsorption processes can remove the dye at the same time. The significantly reduced treatment time required to remove the methyl orange and the simple, low-cost and pollution free preparation method making calcium ferrite nanocomposite, a promising photo-catalyst for highly efficient removal of dyes from waste water.
