Abstract
A new compound, {[Co(TPA)(PYIM)2(H2O)2](MI)4}n(1)(H2TPA = terephthalic acid, PYIM = 2-(3-pyridine) benzimidazole, MI = 2-lmidazolidone) has been urothermal synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR Spectra, the Powder Diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the (1 D)+(2D hydrogen bonds) pillar the compound 1 into an open 3 D supramolecular framework with a pore along the b axis (approximate dimensions 4.5 × 15 Å2), which is occupied by free MI molecules. In addition, the catalytic-degradation capacity of compound 1 for methylene blue (MB) was investigated.
