Reflecting on clinical work with children and adolescents can advance all of our understandings of therapeutic action, the nonlinear nature of the patient/therapist relationship and truly working within a contextualized framework. How can we understand these ubiquitous treatment process dimensions in the case of Paul? The following set of papers was originally presented as a plenary panel entitled “Join the Conversation—Moments in Child Treatment: Spontaneity and Dialogue” presented at the 39th IAPSP Annual International Conference in Boston, MA, October 2016. At this panel, Jackie Gotthold, PsyD, Sandra Hershberg, MD, and Rosalind Chaplin Kindler, MFA, discussed Jackie’s clinical material, moderated by Ronald Bodansky, PhD.
