How might critical clinical moments in child and adolescent treatment contribute to therapeutic action? The following adolescent vignette by Taly Hochstadter, MA, child vignette by Christa Paulinz, MA, and the theoretical presentation and discussion of these vignettes by Anna Ornstein, MD, explore this question. This set of international papers was originally presented as a panel, entitled “Critical Clinical Moments at Crucial Developmental Times,” hosted by the Child and Adolescent Initiative of IAPSP (co-chaired by Denise Davis, LCSW, and Amy Joelson, LCSW) at the 39th IAPSP Annual International Conference in Boston, MA, October 2016. For this journal publication, Anna has combined her original two discussions into a valuable new contribution on clinical action in child treatment.
