ABSTRACT

Herein, a new type of nanocomposite (NC) films has been prepared based on polycarbonate (PC) impregnated by core-shells (PANI-NaBiO2) via intercalated method for enhancing specific capacitance, opto-electric and dielectric constants. For this purpose, optical band gap and other dispersion parameters, ac-conductivity, dielectric properties, specific capacitance/energy of PC/(PANI-NaBiO2) NCs were investigated. The PC-NCs exhibit thermal stability over 400°C. Optical band gap of PC-NC is reduced to 2.61 eV. The maximum ac-conductivity is 1.13 × 10−5 S/cm for PC/4 wt% (PANI-NaBiO2) with enhancing dielectric constant to 76.7. The activation energy decreased to 0.221 eV at room temperature. The specific capacitance increased to 40.32 F/g as well as specific energy increased to 95.39 J/g of PC-NCs, which is higher by two folds compared with pure PC. These results indicate the PC-NC films can be adjustable for opto-electrical and capacitors application.
