Shweta Ghosh is a documentary filmmaker and researcher from India. She is currently a PhD candidate in Film (practice-as-research) at the Department of Film, Theatre & Television, University of Reading, UK. Her PhD film and research explores disability, filmmaking and creative expression in India with a focus on cultures of diversity, inaccess and inequality. An alumnus of the School of Media and Cultural Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India, Shweta has explored a range of subjects including disability, sexuality, identity, memory and cuisine through her writing and filmmaking. Her films have been commissioned via prestigious fellowships by the Public Service Broadcasting Trust (New Delhi) and Early Career Film Fellowship (Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai). Her films have been telecast on national television, screened in film festivals across India and abroad, and used for research, training and advocacy. Shweta has complemented her films with academic research papers at several international conferences and has two publications.
