ABSTRACT
This article will explore the challenge for a teacher, striving to take an inclusive approach to their work in education. It suggests that they can navigate the complexity of a context dominated by wicked problems through their values and passions, embodied by a compassionate approach.

Tristan Middleton
Tristan Middleton is Senior Lecturer in Education and Academic Course Leader for the Master’s in Education at the University of Gloucestershire. He is Chair & Director of Leading Learning for Special Educational Needs & Disability Community Interest Company and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research interests are focused on educational inclusion, resilience, special educational needs and Nurture Groups.
