Abstract
Chromosomal mapping of the bovine calmodulin 1 and α-globin 1 genes was performed by analyzing bovine/murine somatic cell hybrid DNAs with PCR using primers specific for 3′-untranslated regions of those bovine genes. The calmodulin 1 and α-globin 1 genes were assigned to bovine chromosomes 25 and 29, respectively. Results from the present study should contribute to improvement in map resolution of bovine chromosomes and increase comparative information available on bovine chromosomes.
