SILVER HEXACYANOFERRATE(II) FILM DIRECT MODIFIED ELECTRODE AS AMPEROMETRIC SENSOR FOR THE DETERMINATION OF SILVER

Pages 541-551 | Received 01 Nov 2000, Accepted 01 Dec 2000, Published online: 02 Feb 2007

Abstract

Silver electrode direct modified with a thin film of silver hexacyanoferrate(II) is introduced as a simple chemical sensor for silver. The direct modified electrode exhibits a rapid amperometric response towards silver ion over a wide concentration range. The modified electrode has a good selectivity and sensivity for the determination of Ag+ and is suitable for silver analysis in the presence of interferences and in real samples. The new electrode prepared by direct modification has advantages of being highly stable, sensitive, selective, inexpensive, ease of preparation and use, and also the obtained data are reliable due to its reproducibility. The direct modified electrode has a high stability during the time of usage, which made it possible to use over 6 months as a chemical sensor for silver.
