Abstract
Chemically modified electrodes for Ag(I) ion determination were constructed by incorporating S2O2-donor podand, L1 with a carbon paste mixture composed of graphite powder. Ag(I) ion was chemically deposited onto the surface of the modified electrode and then reduced at -0.4 V vs. Ag/AgCl. Well-defined stripping voltammetric peak was obtained by scanning the potential to the positive direction. By differential pulse stripping voltammetry, the appropriate calibration graph for Ag(I) was obtained between 5.0 × 10-7 M and 1.5 × 10-6 M and detection limit was 2.0 × 10-7 M. The ionic species such as Cd(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Hg(II), EDTA, and oxalate(II) did not influence the determination of Ag(I) ion, except Pb(II).
