Abstract
The lipoproteins have been successfully isolated electrophoretically from the blood samples of patients having suffered from type III, hyperlipoproteinemia but survived myocardial infarction. The low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) and high‐density lipoprotein (HDL) fraction from the cellulose acetate membrane is cut, and the total cholesterol and cholesterol of the LDL and HDL are extracted. The cholesterol is determined using an immobilized cholesterol esterase/oxidase column in a flow system.
