Letter from the Editor

I take great pleasure in recognizing the contributions of the expert reviewers who have given generously of their time to review the scientific content of manuscripts submitted in 2003. On behalf of the Editorial Board, I thank you for your continued commitment to ensuring that only the highest quality papers are published in Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy. Of the manuscripts received in 2003, 45% were rejected by these expert reviewers. I am pleased to welcome two new members to the Editorial Board, including Dr. Lisa Brannon‐Peppas and Dr. Hassan Y. Aboul‐Enein. The Editorial Board is composed of 39 opinion leaders active in the field. The Editorial Board members were very active in publishing 17 of their original research papers in the journal during 2003.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Linda Felton will assume to role of Book Review Editor. Her objective is to provide timely book reviews on relevant topics. Dr. Lane Brunner, the Review Editor, continues to solicit and publish high quality and relevant review papers. The journal is indexed and abstracted by all of the major services.

Marcel Dekker, Inc., the publisher of the journal, is implementing many new and exciting changes for authors and reviewers. These new changes provide for easier electronic manuscript submission for contributors and reviewer traffic, which will facilitate the review and publication processes. Hard copies of papers will no longer be required or accepted. Please see the new instructions to authors at www.Dekker.com.

I invite you to submit your research papers to Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy.

Thank you.
