Abstract

Herbert Remmer is remembered by his first Ph.D. student as a demanding mentor with high standards in scientific matters. Remmer was always ready to discuss and question his student's findings, and in this way, served as a lifetime model. Remmer was always generous with the multitude of scientific ideas he generated and he was ready to share these new ideas with others. Remmer is characterized as a person with universal interests possessing a curiosity in philosophy, religion and in all other unanswered questions of the universe.
