One year ago, in connection with the expanded mission of Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine to publish a greater fraction of clinically related articles, I announced that a search was underway to identify a co‐editor to oversee this increased emphasis on medical matters. With this issue, we welcome Dr. Joseph E. Salvatore as co‐editor. Dr. Salvatore is eminently qualified to serve in this capacity. He is an actively practicing physician working at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Phoenix. Equally important, he is deeply committed to a better understanding of all aspects of electromagnetic medicine, and is a frequent contributor to this field at meetings and in the literature.

Henceforth, manuscripts that are more clinically relevant should be sent directly to Dr. Salvatore for the initiation of the review process. In this regard, Dr. Salvatore is expected to name a number of qualified additional Associate Editors to serve as clinically oriented reviewers.

I know that clinicians in the area of electromagnetic medicine do not presently have a forum where their observations and advances can be suitably aired. I am confident that naming Joe Salvatore as co‐editor of EBM will go far towards filling that gap. I look forward to serving with him as we both strive to enhance the quality and impact of the journal.
