Abstract
Carbon sorbents derived from porous polymers were tested for the preconcentration of chlorophenols from water. These sorbents were obtained by thermal treatment of the porous polymeric beads synthesized from 4,4′‐bis(maleimidodiphenyl)methane (BM) and divinylbenzene (DVB). To study their applicability in solid‐phase extraction (SPE), the recoveries and breakthrough volumes of chlorophenol, o‐chlorophenol, 2,3‐dichlorophenol, 2,4‐dichlorophenol, 2,4,6‐trichlorophenol, and naphthalene were determined. Their sorption properties were compared with that of the parent porous copolymer.
