Abstract
One of the biggest problems with countercurrent chromatography, when it comes to its practical application in an industrial environment, is developing a protocol and corresponding solvent system for its operation. This paper critically reviews previous proposals for solvent selection and suggests a scheme that is suitable for use by an inexperienced user and for automation using a modern liquid handling robot.
