Abstract
Demulsification study was carried out for the oil-in-water emulsion (o/w) existing the column top of delayed coking unit in refinery. The stability of such emulsion was investigated and various kinds of demulsifiers were evaluated. Some new kind of cationic demulsifiers were proved to be more efficient for this o/w emulsion. Furthermore, the cause of formation and steady existence of emulsion, and the mechanism of demulsification had also been investigated.
