Abstract
5-p-[N-(2-Pyrrolidinone)]phenyl-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin 3, a novel potential photodynamic therapy drug, was synthesized in high yield in two steps starting from aminotetraphenylporphyrin 1 by first introduction of a chlorobutyramido group, then intramolecular cyclization under base conditions.
