ABSTRACT
The reaction of 2-substituted-4H-pyrido[2,3-h]benzoxazin-4-ones (1) with hydrazine hydrate resulted in 2-substituted-3-aminopyrido[2,3-h]quinazolin-4(3H)ones (2) and not in the corresponding 3. The Schiff bases (4) of 2 on pyrolysis led to 2-substituted pyrido[2,3-h]quinazolin-4(3H)ones (5).
