Abstract
Manganese(II) complexes of the general composition Mn(L)2-X2 (where L = p-methyl acetophenone semicarbazone (HL1) and thiosemicarbazone (HL2) and X = Cl, Br, (1/2 SO4) have been synthesized. All of the complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic moments, electronic and ESR spectral studies. The complexes were found to have magnetic moments corresponding to five unpaired electrons. Possible geometries of the complexes were assigned on the basis of electronic and ESR spectra.
