Hexa‐coordinate Silicon Complexes: Synthesis and Characterization

Abstract

Hexa‐coordinate silicon compounds with the multidentate azomethine ligand N,N′‐o‐phenylenebis(salicylaldimine) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations and spectral (IR, ¹H, ¹³C and ²⁹Si NMR) studies. The data suggest octahedral geometry around the silicon atom in the resulting complexes.
