ABSTRACT
Infrared spectroscopy has been used to investigate the adsorption of trimethyl phosphite (TMP) on the NaY zeolite. The obtained spectrum indicates that at room temperature TMP reacts rapidly with the non-acidic (silanol) hydroxyls on the surface of the zeolite to give SiOCH3 as a chemisorbed product and liquid dimethyl phosphite (DMP).
