Foveal Suppression Syndrome

Pages 268-272 | Received 23 Apr 2009, Published online: 15 Apr 2021

Abstract:

Evaluation of 104 cases of microtropia seen over a period of 18 months shows that the degree of anisometropia and small angle of squint do not bear any fixed relationship to depth of amblyopia or level of stereopsis. This suggests that foveal suppression, the only constant factor in this syndrome, may be associated with the presence of amblyopia and reduction of stereopsis.
