NOTE

Notes

1 The authors of the Southeast Asian essay suggest that another reason for the near-absence of theoretical models of the examined phenomena in the region is the scarcity of empirical data which “does not allow for hypothesis-testing inquiries”; one can counter this proposition with the argument that scholars, also specialists on international migration, have commonly used not only inductive but also deductive theoretical explanations to account for the analyzed phenomena.
