Abstract
A formula to calculate the monostatic radar cross section (RCS) of a perfect conducting circular cylinder by Physical Optics (PO) approximation was derived in the book "Radar Cross Section" written by E. F. Knott. This formula has been widely used, while it is incorrect. In this paper, the right formula is derived and the result shows that the formula given here is correct.
